2002 in Review
It should be obvious by the photographs on our site, that the cats that stay at The Cats Meow are content, relaxed and happy. We love to interact with our feline guests, and photography is another wonderful vehicle to connect with them. We have had many wonderful cats here this year, both in looks and in charm, and our 2002 page looks back on some of them.

The past few years have brought some fascinating experiences to The Cats Meow. Cats seem to find their way here from all over the globe. One night we greeted a family of four cats that traveled by limo all the way from Montreal's Dorval airport, en route from Dubai in the Indian Ocean.

This year alone, we have also had arrivals from Amsterdam, England, and Belgium in Europe, California and Boston in the U.S. and Goose Bay Labrador, Winnipeg, and Vancouver in Canada.

One night we received a reservation from Iqualiut, Nunivut, in the high north of Canada (a couple thousand miles from us). Not only did he know where we were, but several weeks later he arrived at the Ottawa airport, rented a car, brought his cat to us, and then flew off for a holiday in the far east. Wonderful cat too!

We have had a number of large families of cats staying with us this year, including numerous families of four or five, as well as a family of six, a family of eight, and even a family of ten! Fortunately we have facilities to look after them including a number of suites of various configurations and sizes.

We have had many special needs cats here as well, from several cats with only three legs, to deaf or blind cats. They each teach a great deal to us about inner strength, and overcoming life's challenges. Frankly, in almost every case, they have shown amazing adaptability, and often other clients are simply not aware of some of them having any disabilities.

Mary and I have a natural affinity to animals, especially cats, and our clients know the love and care we provide. Clients often contact us after a visit, to tell us that their cats are generally more relaxed, and show more affection, than before their stay. A number of their letters are on our Kudos Page. We love our work with cats, and we feel very fortunate to have had so many wonderful guests and clients grace our Inn.
